Intel says Game On, Arc A750 GPU is now cheaper

Intel announced a price cut on their mid-range GPU to tackle GeForce RTX 3060.

GPU maker reduces the price of A750 GPU to $249 in the US, which is $30 cheaper than at launch. The price reduction is to be applied worldwide, but Intel is not sharing pricing for other regions.

Intel has disclosed the improvements of its new ‘4086’ driver (although the latest driver is 4091). It is said to deliver 10% to 77% higher performance with Arc A750 GPU. The new driver also improves frame times significantly compared to the launch drivers from a few months ago. The FPS percentile has improved as well:

Intel claims that Arc A750 will now offer 52% better performance per dollar compared to NVIDIA RTX 3060 GPU. Those are of course Intel supplied numbers, and they are yet to be verified by independent media. The RTX 3060 now costs around $391, which is a lot more than Arc A750.

Intel ‘4086’ driver claims (Arc A750):

  • 1080p Avg FPS: Up to 77% improvement
  • 1080p 99th Percentile Normalized: Up to 114% improvement
  • 1440p Avg FPS: Up to 87% improvement
  • 1440p 99th Percentile Normalized: Up to 123% improvement
  • Aggregate DX9 FPS improvement: 43%
  • Aggregate DX9 99th Percentile improvement: 60%

Most Intel Arc GPUs are easily available at MSRP, which means that $249 price point should translate into retail pricing easily. At this price, it will definitely push pressure on NVIDIA to focus on the mid-range segment, which sadly wasn’t the case for a long time. The new price announcement also came with a disclosure of a new game bundle, select Arc A-series GPUs now come with free copies of The Settlers: New Allies and Nightingale.
