Adrenalin 23.2.1 now available for Radeon RX 6000 and 7000 series
AMD has just released a new driver for RDNA2 and RDNA3 series.
It took more than two months for AMD to release a new graphics driver for AMD Radeon 6000 series. The 23.2.1 release supports both the desktop Radeon 6000 and mobile Radeon 6000M and 5000M GPUs.
The latest driver is also focusing on game optimizations. Over a course of one year, the performance across numerous games has increased by 10%, AMD claims. With AMD Finewine at work, this release boosts the performance even further.
This driver brings further optimizations compared to the last driver from November 2022. AMD is comparing the performance of Radeon RX 6950XT at 4K resolution in several popular games, including:

- Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered: Up to 4%
- Sniper Elite 5: Up to 3%
- Shadow of the Tomb Raider: Up to 6%

- F1 2022: Up to 19%
- DOOM Eternal: Up to 9%
- Borderlands 3: Up to 4%

Although the comparison above uses the flagship RDNA2 GPU, optimizations are to be expected across all RDNA2 GPUs (from 6400 to 6900 series). AMD has shared the following chart featuring all popular RX 6000 models, with performance increase from 6% to 20% compared to the launch driver from 2021.

AMD is also announcing new features for Radeon RX 6000 series being added to the Adrenalin Software. This includes streaming optimizations for H.265 and H.264 codecs and updates to AMD Link software. AMD is also reminding users that OBS streaming software now supports AV1 encoding with Radeon 7900 series.
The company encourages users to report bugs to their software team and gives examples of bugs that were fixed thanks to community support. This is a crucial part of each driver release process which takes countless hours, AMD claims.
