AMD Radeon RX 7600S has been tested

Notebookcheck have the very first review of ASUS TUF A16 Gaming laptop equipped with AMD’s latest Ryzen 7035 and Radeon 7000 series.

The 16-inch ASUS TUF A16 laptop is equipped with Ryzen 7 7735HS (8-core up to 4.8 GHz), but also comes with optional Ryzen 9 7940HS with Zen4 model. The sample delivered to NBC is using older architecture.

More importantly, it is equipped with AMD’s first RDNA3 mobile GPU, either Radeon RX 7600S or RX 7700S. Again, this model features the lower-end SKU, which in this case means cut-down Navi 33 GPU.

We have already had a chance to see RX 7700S in action, where we could see it beating last-gen RX 6800S by 12%. AMD Radeon RX 7600S, on the other hand, has fewer cores (1792 Stream Processors) and lower TDP than 7700S by 25W (it operates in 50 to 75W power envelope).  This graphics card also features 8GB 128-bit memory.

The GPU has been tested with all popular 3DMark tests and combined into one easy to understand rating chart. It looks like in synthetic test, the RX 7600S is just about 1% faster than Radeon RX 6800S.

However, in gaming tests this laptop is ends up being slower than Legion S7, but this Lenovo laptop comes with more capable Ryzen 9 6900HX series with higher power budget, so this shouldn’t really be that surprising.

AMD Radeon RX 7600S may end up being just as fast as RX 6800S from last-gen series should similarly spec’ed Ryzen CPUs were used. Notebookcheck has a full review of this laptop with a lot more results for both the CPU and GPU individually listed in separate charts, it is definitely worth checking out.
